Match the loan to your plans
Some unsecured loans support car purchases, holidays or debt consolidation; permitted uses differ by product. Choose a purpose in the comparison tool to find relevant options, then confirm your intended use with the lender.
For consolidation, also compare the new loan with the remaining cost of your current debts. See our debt consolidation guide.
Understand the rate you may receive
The lowest advertised rate may have credit or eligibility conditions. Your offer can depend on your finances and the lender's assessment. Read the conditions in each result, then compare the actual quote using the same amount and term.
Our comparison rate guide explains the difference between the headline rate and the advertised cost example.
Check the features you will use
Look at setup and ongoing fees, extra repayment limits, redraw and early payout costs. These vary by product. A fixed rate provides predictability during its fixed period; a variable rate can change. Neither label alone tells you how flexible the loan will be.
Know what unsecured means for risk
You do not pledge a specific asset, but the debt must still be repaid. Missed payments can affect your credit record and lead to recovery action. If you compare a secured loan, weigh its costs against the additional risk to the asset.
